I would never have thought a company I so admired over the years would stoop this low. Unless there is some other story between the lines.
This has never happened to me - no company I have ever worked for has been so malicious toward me.
A former boss once told me that the “richer” a client is - i.e. a company like Mercedes - the more willing they are to let little things slide. The “poorer” a client is, the more they will try to wring from you with every last fiber of their being. Is Marvel a “poor” company”? When you look at the raw numbers

The fourth issue of my comic series was never meant to be. But as it stands, it’s written, with full layouts and five pages inked as of yesterday.
The three issues I made were the polished results of my efforts in the 24 Hour Comics Challenge. it wasn’t until the Indy Comics Week of 2009 that I decided to publish something. That was a truly terrific event - it was well organized, well publicized and it is a shame there wasn’t an annual effort to make it stick.
